8B
Today the band students were out, so with the 10 students remaining we did a review of volume using various prisms.
7F
Today we covered the outcomes ax=b and x/a=b (section 11.3 in the text) and ax+b=c. We drew models to help us solve and solved by opposite operation. Students completed worksheets in class and I have checked them to see how students are doing.
7E
Today we covered the outcomes ax=b and x/a=b (section 11.3 in the text). Students had to complete a worksheet for homework.

7E
Today we corrected sheet 6.3. Then students worked on sheet 6.4 and the first column is to be completed for homework.
7F
Today we corrected worksheet 6.3. Then completed and corrected 6.4, then started 11.1 and 11.2; those will be for homework. We also used manipulatives to find solutions to the outcomes.

7F
Today we worked on modelling and drawing outcomes from chapter 11 and solving using opposite operation.Homework: sheet 6.3, solving equations by addition.
Math 8A
Today we completed and corrected sheets 7.1 and 7.2. Any student not here today could do practise problems from section 7.1 and 7.2 and check the answers in the back of the book.

8A
Today we worked on problems from section 7.2 #s 18,19 and 23 on pages 260-261; and #s 7,12 and 15 on pages 266 and 267.
7E
Today we did boardwork on outcomes x + a = b and ax = b. The students then worked on a worksheet for x + b = c.
8B
Today we worked on problems from section 7.2 #s 18,19 and 23 on pages 260-261; and #s 7,12 and 15 on pages 266 and 267.

7E
Today we worked through section 11.1 and 11.2. We wrote, modeled and solved one step equations. Students not in school today should do problems 5, 7, 9 and 10 on pages 392-393.
8A and 8B
Today we worked on fractional volume of prisms and reworking the formula to find one dimension of the prism. Students not in school today can do problems 5, 8, 9 and 10 on pages 258 and 259.

8A and 8B
Today we started volume of prisms, chapter 7. We covered the formulas, watched videos from youtube and used wooden blocks to find volume of prisms.
7F and 7E
Today we started chapter 11, equations, and the students have to answer the following questions for homework:
Chapter 11 Questions
1.What is an equation?
2.List three methods to solve equations.
3.How do you check your solution? One word.
4.What does isolate the variable mean?
5.What is the opposite operation for add, subtract, multiply and divide?
6.What is another word for “opposite” operation?
7.How would you use the reverse order of operations to solve two step equations?
