Math Classes

Today, we worked on areas of rectangles and squares, parallelograms, and triangles. Tomorrow we will cover areas of circles. Students that are out should be going over some material from their book at home.

LA Classes

Students are to sketch a character, Mr. Sims, from the novel, Underground to Canada. They are to use the description from page 19.

Band students will be responsible for the following questions on Monday.

Spelling and Grammar test Friday. Grammar: writing a good paragraph. Spellings: develop, effect, exact, exist, exhibit, effective, delicious, determine, equipment, committee, ridiculous, realistic, medicine, advantage, language, image, delicate, symbol, physician, and marriage.

No homework, however students can review section 7.1 and 7.2 in their books.

* Today we read Antaeus in our anthology. We have now read all seven stories, and we will have a quiz Wednesday, April 15.
* Students should have their one page story completed on the homeless man, complete with title page.

Math Classes

We are working on possible outcomes and probability in chapter 10, as well as finishing the survey assignments. The survey should only take five minutes tops, however some students feel they can't spare that time at recess or dinner. Once the survey is complete, the rest of the assignment can be completed in class and at home.

LA Classes

*People that haven't completed their spelling and grammar test from last week will do it tomorrow. See last week's blog for spellings and the grammar section is on commas an quotations.
* Today we read From Behind the Red Line in our anthology. We have one more story, Antaeus, then we will have a quiz on our seven short stories.
