LA classes

I have been out sick the last couple of days, but just want to remind everyone the stories were supposed to be passed in by Monday (yesterday). Fom what I saw, it looks like only half have been passed in.

Math classes

I have been out sick the last couple of days but the both classes should be through the three sections of capter 11 and working on the chapter review at the end of the chapter. The answers are in the back of the book, so students can make sure they are doing the work correctly.

*I would like to have the test for chapter 11 on Monday.

Due Friday: Horor (or Scary) Stories.

The students should have the setting completed and the characters developed. So, for the rest of this week they are to write their story. Stories should be at least three pages and hopefully no more than six pages. I would like the students to focus on writing DETAILS into their stories. Details should be used when describing someone or someplace and also used for small sounds such as creaks in the floorboards.

Students should be editting and revising their story before passing it in.

Math classes

Test on fractions this Friday. See yesterday's post for details.

Answers for the review booklet:

1. C 2. A 3. B 4. C 5. A 6. C 7. B 8. B 9. B 10. A

11. C 12. C 13. A 14. A 15. B 16. B 17. A

18. $187 19. 15 20. 16/25

21 a) 20 b) 8 c) 19 d) 27

22 a) 68 b) 57 c) 52 d) 84

23 a) 27 b) 32 c) 50 d) 42

24. 4/12 X 9/12 = 36/144 reduced 1/4
I would reduce from the beginning to look like:
1/3 X 3/4 = 3/12 reduced 1/4

25. 5/8 x 32 = 20 had cell phones; 3/4 of 20 = 15 people had music devices

26. Audrey ate 1/16 of 32 = 2 pieces
Class ate 3/4 of 32 = 24 pieces
so there is now 6 pieces remaining in which the brothers would eat 1/3 each, so 1/3 of 6 is equal to 2 pieces each.

LA 7B

Due tomorrow:
Autobiographical poem: Who Am I?
Students have already completed the poem, so the homework is to dress it up with clip art or little articles.

* tell how you developed your phobia (should be some very interesting thoughts here)
