We are coming to the end of multiplying fractions and will be starting dividing fractions. There are a few students in each class that require extra help. There is no homework assigned, but for those that need or want extra practice they could work on multiplying fractions.

Students are to write a story between 3/4 and one page in length (single spaced) about travelling anywhere in the world. While they are there, they must have a conversation with someone special. They must write this conversation into their story using proper grammar. Also, they must use a number in the story in proper format.

We are working on possible outcomes and probability in chapter 10, as well as finishing the survey assignments. The survey should only take five minutes tops, however some students feel they can't spare that time at recess or dinner. We are working in chapter 10. Sections students will be responsible for are 10.1, 10.2, 10.7, 10.9, 10.10, and 10.11. Students missing time can use their books to learn material as well as using the internet. If they don't understand the material when they return from vacation, they should seek extra help.

We have anthologies we are working from. Students will be responsible for the following stories: The Phantom Dog Team, Four Men and a Box, Brother Leon, Alfred the Great, The Friday that Everything Changed, From Behind the Red Line and Antaeus. We will work on the stories in order of the listing and will probabbly cover the first five before the March Break. There is work to complete for each story and a test will follow upon completion of the stories.
