Writing assignment: In class we worked on three stories: The Monkey's Paw, The Fog Horn, and Tell Tale Heart. The stories did not have a definitive ending, hence the purpose of the mystery. So, the writing assignment is to choose one of the stories and write a more traditional ending. Stories should be 1-2 written pages, use the same characters from the original story, use new vocabulary from the stories, use a simile or metaphor and be proofread and edited before passing the assignment in. Stories can be found online and the assignment is due this Thursday.

Short quiz on Tell Tale Heart tomorrow. Students can use the online story to review.

Math Classes

Test on chapter 3 is on Friday. Students should be studying every night this week. The textbook is an excellent study source because the answers are included, which gives students an indication of what they can do well and what they need help with.

Homework: Simile and picture. Students are to create a simile and then illustrate the simile to show the comparisons they used in the simile.

Students need to complete two sheets on squaring and square rooting numbers.

The Monkey's Paw worksheet is due. Term two has started and we are beginning with figurative language.

Students could read into chapter 3. They will get their chapter 2 test back Wednesday.
